With our acid etched base we use the same  techniques that blacksmiths and print makers have been using since the 15th century. Creating distinct textures  by covering strategic portions of  metal with a resist ( paint). Once it is submerged in ferric chloride (acid) the exposed metal
(not covered in paint ) gets dissolved, revealing stunning designs etched into the surface of the metal. 
 
Pair that with our hand dyed shades. each starts as a drawing using vibrant ink colors. as the paper is saturated with water the colors swirl and mix into organic patterns, making every shade truly unique.
